*Upcoming FAW Tasmania meetings:
- Saturday July 12th 2 pm: You will probably be familiar with Peter Boyer’s writings on the issues of Environmentalism and Climate Change in Tasmania. Instead of our traditional History Lecture he will lead ‘A Conversation about our Climate Future’. This will make for an interesting and insightful afternoon.
- Saturday August 9th 2 pm: Announcement of the Henry Savery Short Story Award followed by a Poetry Workshop with Helen Swain. Bring along a poem you are wrestling with or get advice and feedback from Helen.
- Saturday, September 13th: To be advised.
- Saturday, October 11th: Announcement of the Open and Beatrice Clarke Poetry awards to be followed by members’ readings.
*FAW membership subscriptions are due for renewal on January 1st every year. $35 for individuals, $45 for families or groups, and $20 for students.
*FAW North West Branch is now calling for submissions from members of FAW Tasmania for its 2025 anthology, the title of which will be A Strange Thing Happened…
There are 3 categories: Non-fiction stories, Fiction stories and Poetry. Submissions accepted until May 30, 2025. Submissions are to be in Word format using 12-point Times New Roman font, single line spacing fully justified (poems excepted), with no blank line between paragraphs, but with the first line of each new paragraph indented. Email entries as attachments to Allan Jamieson at jamtin79@gmail.com or supplied on a USB stick to FAWNW, PO Box 608, Burnie, TAS 7320. No limit to the number of submissions per person but the Secretary reserves the right to request any author to reduce the total number of words to below 5000.

MEETINGS
FAW Tasmania meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month at 2.00 pm. There is no meeting held in January. New and second-hand books are available for sale after each meeting.
